SeedsIt is Spring, a time for planting.  What blessed seeds are in us, ready to grow?  If tended, through God’s grace, what might they become?  Some of the people that I listen to, believe that they are beyond generativity.  They are aged, in a retirement facility and cared for by others.  And yet, when asked of what they consider positive aspects of aging, they readily come up with a list of gifts such as tolerance, compassion, pleasure, hope, curiosity, courage  and companionship. Although, they don’t always see these gifts in themselves, I do.  Some of these aged men and women are excellent models for being human.  The seeds producing these gifts in them probably did not emerge overnight.  These people have probably endured and expressed intolerance, endured and expressed judgement, and experienced pain, loss, doubt and isolation.  It is Spring.  It is a time for planting.  What blessed seeds are in us, ready to grow?  If tended, through God’s grace, what might they become?
